Hi! and Welcome to our web home.
BORING! Take me to the web albums!

We are Doug and Carol Clarke.

I wish I had a digital camera 20 years ago so we could trick you all into thinking we were young pups. I think I remember that Carol was about a size 5 and gray hair was something I thought was for once you hit 70 something.

Zoey is the K9 love of our life. When we take her in our Roadtrek she lays on the L shaped lounge and entertains those we share the road with.

The good news is that our AARP cards do come in handy.

We currently operate an Electrical Contracting business in Raleigh, NC. We do mostly custom homes and some small commercial projects. We are trying to get our builders to realize the importance of networking and enhanced video distribution in the modern home. To learn a little more about our business please click on the front page link at the bottom of this page.

Carol and I come from entirely different walks of life. Carol was born and raised in a small city in the northeast. As a pre-teen my family followed the marching orders of the airforce. Eventually I ended up on Cape Cod.

For a little more information about our family tree jump to a little about us.

Carol has never been much of a traveler while I have always liked to roam. Last spring I began looking for a way to change her outlook on going places.

We agreed that tent camping was out of the question for spoiled folk like us. We also agreed that until we retired our travels would usually be long weekenders and perhaps a week here or there.

After considerable research we discovered the roadtrek website and the rest of the story was simply finding the closest dealer with a fair price.

A few years ago we decided to transform our back yard into this oasis. Now when the weather gets hot we do not wander far from home.

Instead we invite family and friends over, cook some burgers and dogs, and see how much water we can splash out of the pool.

Our interests

Carol has become an avid bowler and belongs to a few leagues. She cubbyholes her winnings and one weekend a year she and a few of her girlfriends go Cherokee, NC to the gambling casino there. I suggest she just toss the money out the window on the way there but she feels that putting it in the slots is more fun. They always have a ball and rarely come home with more than gas money. She also enjoys adventure games on the computer, and can be found on the POGO website as "carolnzoey". She likes her "soaps" and has a ferocious appetite for reading. During the week she keeps tabs on the business phone and maintains accounts payable.

By now you might have figured out that I like digital photography and computers. I am a "wantabe" visual basic programmer and am always looking for any excuse to write a program to do something. Aside from our accounting and payroll software all the other applications for our business are my creations. I also enjoy playing bridge and can be found on the MSN Zone a few evenings a week as DougClarke. During the week I spend my time visiting with our customers, chasing down new work, and making sure our crews have the materials they need. We have great senior employees so when we wander we do not need to worry about the quality of our customer's projects.

Together Carol and I have been spending more time with our Roadtrek and the road. As soon as the weather cools we will be back out there looking for new things to see, do, and take pictures of.
