Carol was born and raised in New Bedford, MA. Her dad's family line goes back to Moncton, New Brunswick where an Irish sailor came along and married a local girl a few generations back. Her dad's name was Cassey but I think the old french spelling was Caissie. There is actually a small peninsular just outside of Moncton called Caissie cape. Cassey's parents died very young and he and his brothers were spread among the family tree. That is what brought him to New Bedford, MA. Carol's mom was born and raised just outside of New Bedford but her parents came from Canada also. Shortly after high school Carol took a job at one of the many clothing manufacturing companies in New Bedford. When I met her she was the office manager and I was assigned to install and maintain their new computer.
04/05/2003 It appears that Carol's Dad belongs to a family tree that is maintained as part of this link. http://www.caissy.com/
As for me, I was born in Quakertown, PA. My parents were born and raised in PA but my grandparents came from Germany, France, Scotland, and England as far as I know. I figure that makes me heinz 57. We did not stay in PA very long because my Dad joined the Airforce and became a pilot. Transfers were a mere 18 months apart. We ended up on Cape Cod in the late 50's and that is where I spent my teens and 20s. I worked in the building trades for a while and then decided on electrical work. In my late 20s I landed a job with IBM and was trained to repair small and midsized computers. Laptops were not even possible back then. In the older machines still in use at the time 16,000 bytes of memory was about the size of milk create. The newest technology of the day had that down to a little smaller than a vcr tape.
Well after almost 8 years of hardware repair I got the chance to switch over to the mainframe software side of the business and we moved to Saugerties, NC (home to woodstock II). In 1991 We had the opportunity to move to Raleigh, NC. In 1994 IBM wanted to cutback the work force in the Raleigh area by 10% and offered buyouts for all employees. Once I verified that the state of NC would accept my experience as an electrician from Cape Cod I grabbed the money from IBM, took the electrical exam, and we started our electrical business.
